Munster

Development

Through our Village Review process in 2012, we heard different views on the future of this community. However, the majority of residents felt that this was not the time for growth and did now want to see the boundary expanded. This has resulted in a decision to maintain the current village boundary until, at least, the next Official Plan review in 2018. When it comes to village growth, we do not just look at one village, we look at all of them. Our current proposal for the Official Plan states that growth should be concentrated in the three largest villages, namely Manotick, Richmond and Greely. As many people know, Talos Homes does own a parcel of land adjacent to the village boundary of Munster but this land can only be developed if the boundary is expanded. Development cannot occur within one kilometer of a village boundary.

OC Transpo – Route 283

The 283 continues to be one of the busiest rural bus routes in the City. One of the changes was the removal of the Rural Express Bus Pass. This change meant that all Express Pass holders paid the same amount regardless of where they live, essentially resulting in a savings for rural users of approximately $300 per year.

Road Renewal

As part of Ottawa on the Move, Mansfield Road was resurfaced in 2014, from Conley Road to Munster Road. Flewellyn Road, from Munster Road to Ashton Station Road was resurfaced in summer 2013.
