Ten years of Doors Open in Ottawa

Residents are once again invited to peek inside some of Ottawa’s most interesting and architecturally intriguing buildings in the 10th instalment of Doors Open Ottawa on June 4 and 5.

With an addition of 20 new buildings, a total of 111 doors will be open to the public, free of charge. Celebrating milestones with Doors Open are Ashbury College, which marks 100 years in Rockcliffe Village, and Andrew Fleck Child Care Services, which celebrates its 100th anniversary.

In addition, Doors Open is including a number of buildings that have LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certifications, such as the new OC Transpo Industrial Garage and the Beaver Barracks, the greenest rental building in Ottawa.

United States Embassy tours were exceptionally popular last year. As such, the embassy decided to add a second day, to enable even more visitors to experience the building. Visitors must pre-register for tours at canada.usembassy.gov.

Come see for yourself why Doors Open Ottawa has become one of the city’s favourite rites of spring and the second largest Doors Open event in Ontario! For a complete list of participating buildings, please go to ottawa.ca/doorsopen.
