Happy New Year Rideau-Goulbourn!

I hope you all had a great Christmas and enjoyed your holidays.  2011 is now upon us and with it comes new challenges and new opportunities for the future.  This first column of the New Year gives me an opportunity to lay out some issues we are working on as we go forward into 2011. In other news:

Former Goulbourn Town Hall

In a previous column, I stated that I will be hosting office space at the former Town Hall on Huntley Road.  I plan to begin this shortly and am still working to figure out the best time to provide open office hours.  If you have any suggestions on appropriate times, feel free to contact me.  I do currently have an office in North Gower, but feel it is necessary to conduct business throughout the ward and make it a priority to come to you, instead of the other way around.  I am very excited to utilize the reserved space in Goulbourn.

New Business!

There is an exciting new business launching this summer outside of Richmond and just south of Munster.  Rideau-Goulbourn will soon be home to a vineyard!  Following in the successful footsteps of Navan’s Domaine Perrault, this new winery will be a welcome addition to our community

Upcoming Events

Shiverfest, presented by the Manotick Village and Community Association, is a great event that everyone is Rideau-Goulbourn should make an attempt to visit.  This year’s edition will take place January 28-29.  More information will be provided in the coming weeks.

If you have any future events you would like posted, please email the details to RideauGoulbourn@ottawa.ca. For any other questions or concerns, please contact me at Scott.Moffatt@ottawa.ca or by phone at 613-580-2491.
