Household Hazardous Waste Depot at Conroy Snow Dump

What is household hazardous waste?

If it’s corrosive, flammable or poisonous it’s hazardous waste. These types of products contaminate water and landfills and should never be poured down the drain or put out with your regular garbage.

To help you dispose of these products safely, the City of Ottawa operates several one-day Household Hazardous Waste depots for City of Ottawa residents only. 

Liquid or hazardous waste from industrial, commercial and institutional sources is not accepted.  The one-day Household Hazardous Waste Depots are for residential household waste only.

Drop off the following at household hazardous waste depots include:  
*maximum 100 litres by volume

  • Aerosol containers

  • Propane cylinders

  • Disinfectants

  • Fluorescent bulbs/tubes

  • Fire extinguishers

  • Fertilizers and pesticides

  • Mercury switches/thermometers

  • Needles and syringes

  • Pharmaceuticals

  • Paints and coatings

  • Oven and window cleaners

  • Pool chemicals

  • Gasoline

MVCA Soap Box Derby

If you are interested in entering a cart in the annual Soap Box Derby, you can register online at www.manotickvca.org. The Derby will be held on Sunday, August 25 along with the Picnic in the Park at Centennial Park. Fees are $25 per cart and the MVCA does have carts for those children who do not have access to one. Firefighting Heritage Day at Dickinson House

The Bytown Fire Brigade and the Manotick Volunteer Firefighters Association are bringing vintage firefighting vehicles and equipment to Dickinson House Museum. This will be a "hands on" event where you will be able to sit in the vehicles, handle some of the equipment, and even try your hand (literally) at operating the manual pumper. Experienced firefighters will also share information about the rich history of firefighting in the Ottawa Valley. This FREE event will appeal to all ages.

Scott Moffatt's Golf 4 Youth Classic

The Scott Moffatt Golf 4 Youth Classic is back! The tournament will be on Friday, July 5th at the Canadian Golf and Country Club. Last year, this event raised over $20,000 for Youth of Manotick Association and the Richmond Youth Centre! We are currently in the process of obtaining sponsorships for the tournament.
