Household Hazardous Waste Depot at Kanata Research Park

What is household hazardous waste?
If it’s corrosive, flammable or poisonous it’s hazardous waste. These types of products contaminate water and landfills and should never be poured down the drain or put out with your regular garbage.

To help you dispose of these products safely, the City of Ottawa operates several one-day Household Hazardous Waste depots for City of Ottawa residents only. 

Liquid or hazardous waste from industrial, commercial and institutional sources is not accepted.  The one-day Household Hazardous Waste Depots are for residential household waste only.

Drop off the following at household hazardous waste depots include:  
*maximum 100 litres by volume

  • Aerosol containers
  • Propane cylinders
  • Disinfectants
  • Fluorescent bulbs/tubes
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Fertilizers and pesticides
  • Mercury switches/thermometers
  • Needles and syringes
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Paints and coatings
  • Oven and window cleaners
  • Pool chemicals

Bound By Stardust at Pierces’ Corners Hall

Bound By Stardust is playing at Pierces’ Corners hall, 3048 Pierce Road, on July 14. It’s going to be a good show - a teenager, an angst-filled aunt, an Arctic explorer - characters we all know/know about/are/have been.

Scott Moffatt's Golf 4 Youth Classic Presented by Caivan

The Scott Moffatt Golf 4 Youth Classic presented by Caivan is back! The tournament will be on Friday, July 6th at the Canadian Golf and Country Club. Last year, this event raised over $20,000 for Youth of Manotick Association and the Richmond Youth Centre! We are currently in the process of obtaining sponsorships for the tournament.

Munster Canada Day Extravaganza

The Munster Canada Day Extravaganza will be held on Sunday July 1st at Dogwood Park, 2890 Munster Road from 1pm to 10pm. Attractions will include inflatables to play on, a dunk tank, fun tug of war games, a delicious BBQ, a tasty popcorn stand, beer gardens, a candy corner, as well as all kinds of crafts and games for the kids. This event truly has something for everyone. Open, free of charge to all. Please come and join us and stay for the fireworks at dusk.

Mattamy Homes' Information Session on their Development Application for Stonebridge

Mattamy Homes is hosting an information session regarding a development application within the Stonebridge Community.

The purpose of this meeting is to present a new development application which includes 158 single detached homes and traditional townhomes fronting onto Longfields Drive. The information session will also present an 18 Hole redevelopment concept for the Stonebridge Golf and Country Club.

Site location
The site is located within the Stonebridge Community in Barrhaven South on the west side of Longfields Drive. The site is currently a part of the Stonebridge Golf and Country Club. Please refer to the Location map for more details.

Applicant’s Proposal
A Draft Plan of Subdivision application has been submitted to subdivide the subject lands to enable the development of a residential community currently referred to as Stonebridge Phase 16.

The subject lands are bound by existing Longfields Drive to the east, vacant rural lands to the south, a portion of the existing golf course to the west, and a future Uniform subdivision at 2741 Longfields Drive to the north. The proposed development includes detached dwellings and traditional townhouses as well as parkland. Access to the subdivision will be provided via a southern extension of existing Kilspindie Ridge at the northeast corner of the subject lands.
